Join us for a practical, field-based workshop hosted by The REED Center for Ecosystem Reintegration in collaboration with Contour Lines Corp.

This event is ideal for landowners, farmers, and regenerative agriculture practitioners looking to transition to agroforestry systems and gain technical skills to support that journey.


What You’ll Learn

Led by agroforestry consultant Thomas Leonard, this immersive training will teach you how to:

  • Mark contour lines on the landscape

  • Excavate berms and swales for effective weed control and soil conservation

  • Efficiently plant bareroot seedlings

  • Integrate nitrogen-fixing support species

  • Mulch trees and establish productive ground cover

This hands-on session provides the core techniques needed to begin or expand a regenerative agroforestry system on your land.

Meet Your Instructor

Thomas Leonard is an agroforestry consultant and regenerative farmer. He is passionate about sustainable agriculture and social justice. As cofounder of Contour Lines, he has provided agroforestry grants to over 15,000 farmers and helped plant more than 4 million trees. Thomas farms and consults as Modern Harvest Farms, serves on the Organic Growers School’s Board of Directors, and consults part-time for Oregon’s Wild Harvest.
