What is included in the cost of the PDC?
72-hours of experiential permaculture education over 6 weekends
A Permaculture Design Certification upon completion of course
Camping on farm is available (suggested $10 donation per night)
Freezer and Refrigerator space
Take-home plants such as mushroom logs, propagated elderberry, wildflower seeds and much more
Nightly bonfires (weather permitting) and plenty of cooking areas
Outdoor amphitheater film viewing
The confidence and foundation to apply your education to the context of your own life and space
Yoga sessions ($5 suggested donation per session)
Are PDC classes refundable?
A non-refundable deposit of $200 holds your spot for the course
Final payment is due by the first day of the course. IF unforeseen circumstances prevent completion of course, a prorated partial refund may be considered.
If in-person classes are cancelled for reasons outside our control, such as new pandemic restrictions, your money will not be lost. While the deposit is nonrefundable, WE INTEND TO COMPLETE YOUR COURSE either in person or online. For those wishing to opt out in those circumstances:
1) There is a 100% return of funds pro-rated for all classes not completed, or
2) Funds may be credited to another TRC event, such as a subsequent PDC that you can attend to complete your Permaculture Design Certification.
What should I bring?
Food
There will be coffee, tea and snacks provided each day
Food is NOT included in the cost of the PDC (Most classes decide to have optional potluck meals)
Please bring lunches and snacks
You may bring your own cooler with LABELED ice packs. Freezer will be available for ice packs
Mess Kit (plate, cup & cutlery) LABELED. Dishwashing stations will be provided.
Clothing
Please prepare for all weather types: we will be observing ecosystems in as many different types of weather as possible INCLUDING rain, and cold or warm temperatures
Hiking shoes, well-fitting work gloves, and a blanket for cool evening events are recommended
Water bottle - water is available for refills
Notebook and pen
Portable chairs (if you have them)
For campers:
Tent
Sleeping bag
Any comfort amenities
Fridge and freezer space are available

Where do the courses take place?
Morning View Food Forest & The Reed Center for Ecosystem Reintegration, 1932 Mountain Church Road, Middletown, Maryland 21769
There may be occasional field trips within 2 hours from Middletown, MD. Caravans will be arranged and addresses distributed well in advance.
Is there housing available?
Camping is available on a donation basis. $10/weekend suggested donation.

Are there scholarships available for the PDC?
At the REED Center, we believe in education for all. With that in mind, we want our courses to be available to people of all means and backgrounds. Please contact us with any further inquiries or concerns.
The maximum scholarship available is for 50% of tuition. Apply for whatever level of scholarship you need through the link below (please note: applications do not guarantee scholarships).
