Arman Milanian, Board Member
Arman Milanian emigrated from Iran to the United States back in 2006. He studied mechanical engineering at University of Maryland and currently works in intellectual property industry. However, his main interest has always been in ecology and eco-restorations which dates back to his childhood in Shahriar, Iran. He was introduced to permaculture through a Permaculture Design Course at Atitlan Organics in Guatemala. He also has gone through the radical mycology course taught by Peter McCoy.
Through frequent volunteering at Forested in Bowie, he met the founder Ben Friton and became interested in his vision, later joining Ben’s team. Arman is also leading the composting team at Glebe Garden Club in Arlington, VA, where he also has an experimental plot. His vision is to further educate the immigrant community, especially in the DMV area, to be more ecological.
