This class will be a deep dive on how to design landscapes that benefit diverse wildlife while simultaneously improving the health of human-centric agro-ecosystems.
Specifically, we will be visiting regions on site at Morning View Food Forest that are being designed as bird sanctuaries and wildlife corridors, and we will be discussing the importance of these practices for food production for humans. We will also be reviewing the principles behind integrated pest management and how those practices can be applied in your own yards or farms, neighborhoods, and communities.
Please bring your own lunch and water bottle, a notebook, something to write with, warm layers, and durable shoes or boots. We will be providing light snacks, water, coffee, and tea.
This class counts toward the permaculture design certification, if you have signed up to take the PDC.
There are 8 PDC credit hours given for attending this class.
All classes are offered on a sliding scale pricing model; please pay at the rate that is within the means of your lived reality. If you are coming from experience with structural marginalization or other economically-challenging circumstances, we invite you to pay at the lowest end of the sliding scale or to reach out to inquire about work trade opportunities.
